Curriculum Intent

At Sudley Junior School, we believe it is important for children to learn a language as it provides valuable educational, social and cultural experiences. It helps them to see diversity within society and promotes inclusion across the school.

It is our intention that children will make substantial progress in one language, Spanish, developing communication skills in speaking, listening, reading and writing.

In addition, children’s foundations will be secure for future, life-long learning as they progress on into secondary school and adult life. We strive to stimulate and encourage children’s curiosity about language and develop their awareness of cultural differences in other countries.
