Read Write Inc. Fidelity Statement

At Sudley Primary School, we deliver the Read Write Inc. phonics programme with fidelity to ensure all children become confident readers and writers. Staff are trained to teach daily, structured phonics lessons using the agreed RWI routines, language and resources. Children are regularly assessed and grouped according to their reading ability, ensuring consistent progress. School leaders monitor delivery to maintain high standards and support all pupils to achieve their full potential.

When the children arrive in Year 3, they are assessed against the Read Write Inc Assessment materials and any gaps in phonics are addressed in an appropriate way so that they can catch up quickly. This might be whole class or small groups depending on outcomes of assessments.
